The Wings Fly Together

In a rush for simplification and singularity, let us not forget we have wings. 2 wings. Balance achieved through polarity and contrast.

As theory and practice are said to balance each other in the Buddhist proverb, so too must creativity and discipline refine each other for ideas to take flight.

When posed as opposites, creativity and discipline will oblige. New ideas will be stomped out by efficiency, and by fear of ruffling feathers. This is not good enough, not if we want to soar.

My words for independent flyers:

Meet the day in earnest and wear the suit of your existence

Bury your arrogance and acknowledge the creation and wonder of a child at play

See the journey as the destination
