Why Embodied Philosophy?

We begin and end with the body and a breath. With our immense capacity and love for abstraction, it is easy to forget this fact, there is power in remembering.

The body is the vessel through which we experience the great mystery of life. Through which we explore and make sense of reality. Respect the vessel and you will find your quality of life improve.

There is no clear separation between body and brain. You are a body. The cartesian oversimplification of mind-body split sits at the heart of our modern culture. We tell ourselves how to feel, rather than learn to listen.

I don’t care much for theoretical or semantical philosophy, I want the practical, the visceral, the real. Understanding the body is as real as it gets. For this reason, I am a student of movement, of somatics, and martial arts.
